  • Heat Gun
  • Flat Head Screwdriver
  • 5mm Allen Wrench
  • 6mm Allen Wrench
  • Wire Cutters
  • Wire Terminal Crimpers

Additional Supplies:

18-20 AWG Heat Shrink Butt Connectors

Instructions:

Step 1:

Remove the left rear side panel with the 5mm allen wrench and a flat head screwdriver. You can remove the other side panel and seat as well if you would like it will make access much easier. Use a 6mm allen key to remove the two seat bolts.

Step 2:

Remove the kickstand switch protector by removing the two bolts using an 8mm socket to the left & right of center kickstand bolt. Then remove the center bolt with an 8mm Socket that holds the switch in place. You will need to put the kickstand up for access. The kickstand will stay affixed during this entire process as this is mounted with a hollow threaded bolt that holds the actual kickstand assembly in place. Discard the cover and 3 bolts.

Step 3:

Remove the two bolts holding the battery box in place with a 10mm Socket. Note: it is only the two furthest left that get removed. Then remove the plastic pop clip on the right that locks the plastic mounting hook in place with a flat head screwdriver. Once released you will need to pull the whole plastic clip out. Rotate the battery box up and counter clockwise to unhook the plastic mounting hook from where the clip was removed.

Step 4:

Now that you have access behind the battery box unclip the green clip to disconnect the kickstand switch. There are two factory plastic clips holding the wire to the frame that can also be removed and discarded. At this point the switch and attached wire free from the bike.

Step 5:

Cut about 2 inches down from the green clip on the kickstand wire you have removed. Strip about .25 inches of from both wires. Take a 18-20 AWG Heat Shrink Butt Connectors and attach these two ends shorting/completing this circuit

Step 6:

Plug in your modified wire back into the factory harness. Discard the kickstand switch and remaining attached wire.

Step 7:

Re-Assemble the other removed parts. This completes the kickstand switch removal
